Q: … DOT who … ?

A: Dot is anything but the 16-year-old me getting called gay by their friends. It’s taking ownership of my queerness – not apologizing for one bit of it. Dot is an opportunity to free myself from societal gender norms. Taking one step backwards every day from the nonsensical cis-hetero realm. Dot is giving myself the option to edit the way people see and treat me. It’s saying, “I honestly haven’t really changed all that much, it’s just a name and a new set of pronouns. So what?” It’s flexibility, self-love, and trust. And sometimes Dot is a great opportunity for a pun… To hear more about my recent name change, the importance of assumptions, and my path to identifying as agender/non-binary, listen to my full interview HERE.
